Ingredients

  • 400g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large pan over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add remaining oil. Sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, stir-frying for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the pan. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir well. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
